First Ever!

Hi ya,
Welcome to the first ever Scrapalatte blog post.  Can I just say that next to parenting, I have just been on the biggest learning curve creating and developing this blog!  Fun, but involved....new terminology I never even knew existed and cool functions that I previously thought were only in the realm of Graphic Artists!  Phew....having said all that WELCOME, welcome to Scrapalatte.  This is where I intend to show you what I can do and what I can teach you.  A place to display Layouts (LO), projects, techniques and anything else scrap related.  I hope to inspire you to create whatever you heart desires and most importantly, to enjoy the creative process.  I encourage you to speak....leave comments and feedback anytime and that way I will know how to help you in that creative process.

A bit about me....I am 36 and live in Ormeau Hills with my husband Jason and our three gorgeous (yet periodically wicked) children.  I have been on two design teams (one in the ACT and one in SA), and have taught scrapbooking collectively for about 4 years, firstly at a store in Brisbane, and most recently at The Scrapbook Cupboard here in Helensvale.  My ideas for Scrapalatte actually grew out of the unfortunate closing of the Scrapbook Cupboard and the subsequent realisation that there is nowhere on the northern end of the Gold Coast for people to learn Scrapbooking.  And for those of us already scrapobsessed (yes...that is a new word!), nowhere to indulge in our hobby or sit and scrap with friends.  I really hope through Scrapalatte to fill that gap and provide a happy, inspiring and creative atmosphere for scrappers or cardmakers of all levels.

OK so I will leave you now with a recently completed LO which may appear as one of the first Scrapalatte classes.  Really simple to do, and cheap as chips!!  One piece of Kraft cardstock (CS), some paper flowers, one photo, bit of ribbon, stamp and ink, and you are pretty much done.  You will come to realise that I do love black and white photos, bright funky colours and of course....Kraft CS.  I therefore had a ball doing this LO, loved the colours and the contrast as I really wanted it to pop right out at you! And it was done in less than an hour!  Tell me what you think......
